Casa Amarela

Quinta do Lago

A delicate balance between the simplicity of contemporaneity and the vibrant nature of Quinta do Lago

Above all else, Casa Amarela maintains a delicate balance between the simplicity of contemporaneity, the use of glass, which allows light to become part of the interior décor, and the vibrant nature of its surroundings – Quinta do Lago, a luxury resort in Portugal’s Algarve region. Just like all projects taken on by Fastrooij - Luxury Investments, this exclusive development sought to make the most of its location by integrating the building into its natural setting, benefiting from the natural landscape and the region’s 300 annual hours of sunshine. The Algarve does, after all, enjoy the best year-round weather in Europe.

Overlooking the sea and the various shades of green of the golf course and a small pine wood, "Casa Amarela", or “Yellow Villa”, also combines beauty with functionality and luxury thanks to the care taken with all its amenities, details and finishes.

Architect
Vasco Vieira

This is a case study of the fundamental axiom in architectural design: no two works are alike, and each project is unique, designed for a specific client in a particular location. Vasco Vieira's contemporary style favours the element of water, the use of glass, the simplicity and horizontality of lines, double-height ceilings and open spaces, particularly in social areas.

The building is intimate in a clear tribute to the concept of comfortable living and to the surrounding landscape. Areas have been subtracted from its single structure to make room for secluded recesses and enhance both lighting and ventilation between the indoors and outdoors.

The entrance is marked by an imposing 7-metre-tall door, which opens onto a central area with an unobstructed view of the garden

The main floor has an open-plan design encompassing a large entrance hall, kitchen and dining room, living room and TV room that connect to two covered outdoor areas.

The basement features a cinema room, a games room with a bar and fireplace and a wine cellar with a purpose-built cooling system. A heated indoor pool is complemented by a sauna, steam room, massage area and sophisticated gym.

The three-storey Casa Amarela has a floor space of 1,500 m2 and stands on a plot measuring 4,800 m2. Contemporary interior design complements the exterior, set off by exclusive furniture and decorative pieces.
